Everyone Active Joins NHS England Campaign for Early Cancer Detection
Everyone Active has partnered with NHS England to promote early cancer awareness across its 230 UK leisure facilities. The initiative aims to help members recognize potential cancer symptoms and seek timely medical advice.
The partnership introduces awareness messaging through mirror stickers and posters in changing rooms and toilets, highlighting key cancer symptoms and encouraging GP visits when changes occur. While most symptoms aren't serious, early detection improves treatment outcomes.
Dame Cally Palmer, National Director for Cancer at NHS England, states: "Everyone Active's partnership with the NHS helps improve body awareness and detect cancer earlier. This builds on our existing work with supermarkets and health facilities to introduce important body awareness reminders."
Jacqui Tillman, Aquatics and Wellbeing Director at Everyone Active, adds: "Our leisure centres are community hubs, making them ideal for sharing these vital health reminders with customers and colleagues."
Everyone Active joins other major organizations supporting NHS England's body awareness campaign, including ASDA, Morrisons, P-Wave, and Tesco. The company also partners with Breast Cancer Now to raise funds and support those affected by breast cancer.
This initiative reinforces the importance of body awareness and prompt medical consultation, contributing to improved cancer detection rates and better health outcomes across communities.
