William Penn Leisure Centre Completes £500k Gym and Studios Modernisation

William Penn Leisure Centre has completed a major £500,000 renovation of its fitness facilities, featuring state-of-the-art equipment and enhanced workout spaces.

The upgraded gym now includes:

  • Advanced Life Fitness cardio equipment (treadmills, cross trainers, rowers)
  • Comprehensive strength training area with free weights and resistance machines
  • New power racks and hip thrust station
  • Dedicated relaxation zone with massage guns
  • Modern LED lighting and noise-reducing rubber flooring

Additional improvements include:

  • Refurbished group cycling studio with new Keiser bikes
  • Two renovated group exercise studios
  • Fresh interior design with Everyone Active's signature red and black theme

The centre has also undergone environmental upgrades:

  • Installation of 500 solar panels on the roof
  • New electric vehicle charging stations in the car park
  • £152,800 investment from the Swimming Pool Support Fund

Regular member Nadia Milligan praised the renovation: "The new facilities are amazing and clearly have been thought through by a specialist gym contractor. We are all very fortunate to have top of the range facilities at our doorstep."

John Sewell, Contract Manager at Everyone Active, emphasized the community benefits: "We are thrilled to complete this major refurbishment and believe the community will benefit greatly from the enhanced gym and studio spaces. Our aim is to create more opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities to embrace a healthy, active lifestyle."

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Three Rivers District Council's Lead Member for Leisure, added: "These upgrades will make the leisure centre even better for everyone – including the planet! We cannot wait for everyone to experience the new and improved facilities."

The leisure centre is operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Three Rivers District Council and is located in Rickmansworth.
