White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley has achieved a remarkable milestone by welcoming its millionth visitor since opening in February 2022. The £20 million facility has quickly become a cornerstone of community fitness and recreation.

Local resident Kate Fernandez from Hextable village earned the distinction of being the millionth visitor, receiving a complimentary year-long membership. A regular for over 12 years, Kate visits at least four times weekly for badminton, gym sessions, and family activities.

The centre features a 25-metre six-lane swimming pool, newly refurbished fitness suite, soft play area, and TAGactive indoor obstacle course. Following a 58% surge in membership, Everyone Active invested £200,000 in upgrading the gym facilities, doubling the Olympic squat racks and expanding the functional training area with modern equipment.

Beyond traditional fitness offerings, the centre has established vital community partnerships, including:

  • NHS Health Checks team providing pop-up health assessments
  • Talking Therapies supporting Men's Health Month
  • Tailored programs for specific health conditions like chronic arthritis

The facility employs 45 full-time and 35 part-time staff members, serving as both a fitness destination and significant local employer. Kate received her annual membership and gift hamper on November 15th, presented by Everyone Active colleagues, Councillor Lesley Dyball, and Swanley Mayor Rita Wood.

This achievement reflects the centre's successful mission to become a central hub for community health and wellbeing, serving people of all ages and abilities in the Swanley area.
