St. Louis CITY SC Partners with YMCA to Make Youth Soccer More Accessible Through Soccer for Our CITY Program
St. Louis CITY SC and Gateway Region YMCA have partnered to launch Soccer for Our CITY, presented by Together Credit Union, aimed at making soccer more accessible to youth in the St. Louis region. The program is part of CITY SC's CITY Futures platform and offers reduced-cost participation in YMCA soccer programs.
The program costs $10 for YMCA members and $20 for non-members per season. St. Louis CITY SC provides equipment, including soccer balls and branded coach T-shirts, along with a comprehensive training curriculum focusing on technical, emotional, social, tactical, and physical skills development.

Program Details:
- Available for pre-K through sixth grade
- Serves eight Gateway Region YMCA branches across Missouri and Illinois
- Expected to impact over 2,000 youth in the first year
- Includes locations: Bayer, Carondelet Park, Emerson, South City (Missouri), and O'Fallon, East Belleville, Downtown Belleville, CMT (Illinois)
Together Credit Union, as the program's presenting sponsor, has contributed $10,000 to support the YMCA's mission. The initiative aims to develop essential life skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork while making the sport more accessible to under-resourced communities.

St. Louis CITY SC is one of Major League Soccer's newest expansion teams, featuring a majority female-led ownership group. The team plays at CITYPARK, a 22,500-seat soccer-specific stadium that's part of a comprehensive 30-acre urban campus including practice facilities, team store, and headquarters.
The Gateway Region YMCA operates 24 traditional branches across Missouri and Illinois, including specialized facilities like Camp Lakewood and Trout Lodge. They provide financial assistance to ensure program accessibility for all participants, regardless of ability to pay.
