A pioneering digital aqua therapy programme, Good Boost, will launch at Rainham Leisure Centre's main pool on February 25th, 2025, offering personalized exercise solutions for residents with mobility challenges.

Using waterproof tablets and artificial intelligence, the programme creates and adapts individual exercise plans in real-time, specifically targeting musculoskeletal conditions that affect 18.8 million people in the UK. The technology has already shown significant success in improving mobility and independence at other Everyone Active leisure centres.

Sessions will run twice weekly in the main pool every Tuesday and Friday from 2:30-3:30pm, supervised by qualified instructors. The programme costs £4.50 per session on a pay-as-you-go basis and is also available through the centre's exercise referral scheme.

Karen Heilbrunn, Contract Activity & Wellbeing Manager at Everyone Active, emphasizes the programme's importance in addressing the growing community need for mobility support, particularly given increasing pressure on local health services.

Councillor Gillian Ford, Deputy Leader of Havering Council and Cabinet Member for Adults and Wellbeing, supports the initiative's role in making exercise more accessible and promoting both physical and mental health benefits.

Everyone Active plans to expand the programme with land-based sessions in the coming months, providing additional options for residents to benefit from this innovative technology.

Key Features:

  • AI-powered personalized exercise plans
  • Qualified instructor supervision
  • Waterproof tablet guidance
  • Suitable for all ages and abilities
  • Targets arthritis, chronic pain, and mobility issues
